From the box: “Build Like A Mortal – Win Like a God
Do you have what it takes to join the pantheon of winners? Build like a mortal and win like a God in the game of Santorini! Created by mathematician and educator Gordon Hamilton, this pure strategy game requires players to sharpen their wits! Everyone can gather around Santorini and face-off in a build-to-the-finish.”
Loy says: The rules are simple – you move one space, then you construct a building or add a level onto one. Similar to chess, you’re moving to block opponents pieces while positioning your own. Similar to Quoridor, buildings you create can block you or opponents. With two players, it’s a little predictable. With three, it’s more interesting. Four players must play on teams where they cannot communicate without alerting their opponents. “God cards” add special powers that change the rules and keep the game fresh. This is a winner for all ages and levels, as it will play at the level of those playing. A good choice for everyone’s game table.
